At the May 18, 2026, Board of Supervisors meeting, we were honored to welcome David Sanko, Executive Director for the PA State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) for two special presentations.
The Township was honored to have PSATS Youth Award Winners, Avi Abrol and Dillon Lind, local high school students who have created STEMStrong to teach children in Bensalem, Warminster and Wrightstown Townships about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to attend the Board Meeting for the award presentation. As winners of this award, the group received a $500 cash prize and a framed certificate.
Here is a description of their project:
“We founded an ongoing and growing STEM education program called StemStrong. We target elementary school kids, with a focus on kids in underserved areas. When we first started this over a year ago, we contacted various locations we felt would benefit from our initiative. Once we had locations and dates in place, we created a variety of short presentations on STEM concepts such as how does a paper airplane fly, how does a catapult work, etc. using online resources. After our presentations, the kids build their own project based on what they learned, and we help them as needed. Then the kids engage in a friendly competition to see whose design worked best. We award certificates of participation as well as stickers for the competition winners. The kids have a great time learning and actively participating.” For more information about their project, please visit www.Stemstrong.org
