A “distraction burglary” occurred in Newtown Twp. on Friday, 11-01-07. In this most recent ruse, an elderly resident was approached (on
foot) by a female (below) and was told that her neighbor’s property was to have a fence installed.
So as to avoid problems, the suspect asked the victim to show her the property line. The victim did so in her (victim’s) auto. At the end of the property line, a red pick-up truck arrived and the female suspect got inside the passenger side and thanked the victim. She told the victim that the construction would start the next morning.
After returning to her home, the victim noticed that her front door had been entered and her purse missing from the dining room. A second
floor bedroom had been entered as well.
Suspect #1: White/female, dark complexion, 25-30 yrs. of age, shoulder length brown hair parted in the middle, long blue denim dress.
Suspect #2: White / male. No further description as he was seen briefly while driving the pick-up truck.
Vehicle: full size red pick-up truck, possibly a late model Chevrolet.
